JIM FULTON NAMED MANAGING BROKER OF BULLARD PEACHTREE CITY OFFICE
Jim Fulton, one of Fayette County’s best known Realtors and civic leaders, has been named managing broker of the Peachtree City/Fayette County officeof Coldwell Banker Bullard.
In making the announcement, Steve Bullard, the owner and president of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty, pointed out that “Jim Fulton is
a perfect fit for this position with his long history of leadership in the real estate and building industry and his lifetime involvement in civic affairs in the Peachtree City and Fayette County area.” The Bullard Peachtree City office is the company’s largest and is one of the largest real estate offices in Peachtree City.
Fulton, who has been an associate broker with Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty and has focused his efforts on commercial real estate since his previous company, Coldwell Banker Fulton Realty Associates, was acquired by the Bullard organization just over two years ago, said that he is looking forward to working as broker for Bullard’s Peachtree City location. “It’s not like I’m coming
in to a new situation,” he noted. “I’ve been associated with Bullard the past couple of years, and I already have a working
relationship with most of the people I will be associated with. Also, Steve Bullard and I have known each other for many years.”
The Fulton family’s activities in real estate go back to 1961, when Miriam Fulton, Jim Fulton’s mother, began selling homes and homesites for the developer of Peachtree City a short time after the Fulton family had moved into one of the first new homes in Peachtree City.
Miriam Fulton founded Miriam Fulton Realty in 1971, and Jim Fulton joined her in 1972. When Jim Fulton earned his broker’s license in 1975, he assumed the operations of the company on a day-to-day basis. In January of 1991, the Fultons acquired a Coldwell Banker network-owned office in Peachtree City, merging it with their own office and becoming a Coldwell Banker affiliate. At that same time, the business name was changed from Miriam Fulton Realty to Coldwell Banker Fulton Realty Associates.
Fulton, who is a graduate of Georgia Tech and who did graduate work at Purdue University (Columbus, Ind., campus) and Georgia State University, is a former chairman of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce and the Development Authority of Peachtree City. He was named Outstanding Business Person of Fayette County in 1989 by the Chamber of Commerce.
He served as president of the Fayette County Board of Realtors, was Realtor of the Yearin 1970, 1987 and 1995, and was Realtor Associate of the Year in 1975. For the Georgia Association of
Realtors, he was governor of the Realtors’ Institute from 1991 to 1997 and was a State Director from 1979 until 1984. Fulton was also a home builder from 1971 through 1983, serving as a charter member and as president of the MidWest Georgia Home Builders Association and as senior life director of the National Association of Home Builders.
The oldest and largest real estate company headquartered in the Metro South area of Atlanta, Coldwell Banker Bullard has its headquarters in Jonesboro. The organization now has offices in McDonough, Jackson, Peachtree City, and Newnan, and a separate but affiliated company, Coldwell Banker American Land Mart in Conyers.
The Coldwell Banker Bullard organization, founded in 1956 by the late Cliff Bullard, worked out a franchise agreement with Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation in early 1998 and is the largest Coldwell Banker franchise in Georgia. Steve Bullard has been with the company for more than 35 years.
