Jimmy Booth PR
Jimmy Booth, a longtime Atlanta area journalist and public relations consultant, founded this PR company under his name in 1989. Over the years, the company's client base has included companies and organizations located from Atlanta's northern suburban counties to the Macon/Warner Robins area on the south.

The company has primarily specialized in working with real estate companies, developers and builders, but its client list has also included remodelers, resort properties, trade associations, industries, retail businesses, medical and dental practices, banks, mortgage banking firms, CPA firms, and a hotel management group. Clients have included some of the leading home building, development, and real estate companies in the Atlanta Metro and Central Georgia areas.

Jimmy Booth PR moved its operations from Peachtree City, GA, to Dahlonega, GA, in September of 2006. Since that time, Booth and his wife Margo have become involved with some Dahlonega-based not-for-profit cultural arts organizations working to keep alive the traditional mountain music and art which are a vital part of the area's heritage. Also during this period, the company has become involved in publicity efforts for some of the festivals and other special events in the Dahlonega/Lumpkin County area (see photos right).

CONGRESS FOR THE NEW URBANISM LANDS IN ATLANTA

By Carl Seville, GBA AdvisorSandy Boda

I had the pleasure of attending the 18th Congress for the New Urbanism in Atlanta this year. I have been following the development of the New Urbanism movement since its early days, having been introduced to it by my friend Peter Katz, who wrote one of the first books on the subject, The New Urbanism, almost 20 years ago. New Urbanism is a movement in architecture and development that promotes walkable neighborhoods by combining a range of housing types, community amenities, and businesses in close proximity.
